Get the Energy Suspension Polyuerathane motor mount inserts. They make a big difference and are relatively easy to install. Also, if you can find one some company(SHO-shop?)made a solid beam to replace the 'stab-o-shoc' mounted by front motor mount. Its a small shock that helps control the engine movement. Replacing it with a solid piece should help even more.

Chris, we're talking cheap and easy here... Show me that bill again?! laugh wink

Motor mount inserts definitely. On my car the "stab-o-shock" is busted. Replacing it or sourcing a stronger one would definitely be cool. A torque strap would help, I believe Brad Noon runs his car with that?

How about this:

Dont mash the gas so hard when you launch! laugh j/k If you are racing, lower your front tire pressure to about 18 lbs. This will allow the sidewall to absorb a lot of the impact from a hard launch and will allow a larger contact patch for gripping.

The urethane motor mount will help, but not all that much. I have one, and still get the wheel hop when tires are fully inflated.

About going with a sold torque shock...I don't know about this. In theory, its fine. Keep in mind though that the shock mounts to the ALUMINUM transmission case. If twisting motion is too great and the aluminum is nice and hot, a solid shaft in place of the shock could cause the case to crack at the mounting point. Stress the work "could" here because I've never seen one or had one installed, so I don't know how much force the mouting point can take.

Exactly! Solid mounting anything made of CAST ALUMINUM (can you say brittle as ****) is a very dumb idea.

Anyone with industrial knowledge ever look into replacing the "stab-o-shock" with one of much higher damping rate that would better control movement? I've seen some in big machinery or industrial tooling.... Just throwing ideas around..
