I was wondering what the best way to fill in scratches and dings would be. Would it be using one of those fill in pens(i think thats what they call them) or is there anyother way... Thanks

yeah you can use those pens but how good will it look. I have never used them myself. How bad are your scratches?

use a clay bar (local auto store) it gets all the surface scratches and outer buildup off, it's sorta like a new start. You have to wax afterwards though, it basically strips everything.

hope that helps, there's a good one called Mother's california clay bar I believe it's called for about 16.99.

it will last you forever!

give it a try

If you have pretty deep chips, that tinted turtle wax polish is pretty good for a temporary fix. You really have to slop it on to get it to fill the chips.

ScratchX from Meguiars works pretty good at getting light scratches out by hand. I detailed a car last year that had dog claw scratches on it. After a couple of applications they were gone! I believe it costs ~ $5 and can be found at WalMart/KMart. Give that a try before you do the colored wax routine.

Scratch-X isn't going to anything for chips down to the primer, hence why I stated deep chips.

Correct, but the original post was about fixing scratches, no mention of them being down to the primer.
