Everything is running fine. Voltage readings are all normal both when the charge light is on and off. Just getting charge light every few days at random times. Sometimes will come on right when it's started. Sometimes after I've been driving a bit. And goes off just as sporatically.

Checked cables and grounds and they all look good.

What would be the next step? Replacing all wiring? Altrenator?

I've read the horror stories here about the car just dying out of nowhere on the express way, so although everything is running fine right now, just the sight of the light keeps getting me uneasy!

As the alternator is "easy" to access for the Zetec, I would suggest checking the regulator at the alternator (regulator costs about $40). It could be the wiring too.
