I have nothing done to the car, it is a v6 auto 98. The most i will ever do to this is exhaust and intake. What are the best inexpensive, and correct, ones money can buy?

I read about $7 ea, there is no way I am spending that much.

Autolite or Motorcraft double platinums should be just fine. Depending on where you get em, ~$4 each maybe.

Would this also apply to the SVT? I have a '00 with KKM air intake and a superchip. More things are on the way, including 9mm wires and some new plugs.

If your putting plugs in an SVT don't make sure you get AWSF22.. Autolight or the NGK that cross references with it. The parts store will try to sell you a AWSF32... The 22 or 32 signifies the heat range and the 32 is a heat range too hot for the SVT's higher compression. This caused pre-ignition in my car and it was a royal pain to figure out what the problem was.

My SVT came with AWSF 32F Motorcraft plugs. I recently heard that the 2000 SVT came with the colder 22.

Unless you know what you are doing, don't mess with the heat range. Contrary to common belief, a colder plug does not generate more horsepower in and of itself. Too hot of a plug will wear faster and too cold of a plug will foul too easily. Unless you have made extensive modifications such has much higher compression or huch wilder cams, don't mess with it unless you have studied the subject in depth.

Unless you have S/C, T/C, bottle, or increased compression, stick with the OEM specified heat range. I'm doing OK with the colder plugs on my 3.0 w/SVT heads, but they are due for a pull to really check them soon.

Just noticed Friday when changing plugs in a Lincoln LS that the original plugs are NGK with both NGK and Motorcraft labels and the Motorcraft part number.
