Hey folks,
I've had a vortech on my '99 SVT for about 6 months, put 9K miles on it, and it just went out. We just took it off at my mechanics, and looked at it, and the splines where the jackshaft and supercharger mate were stripped. We checked oil flow through the supercharger, no problem there, and the supercharger seems to spin freely.
Question is- anyone else out there have their vortech fail in a similiar fashion? What reports of supercharger failures do we have?
I just want to be prepared to deal with Vortech if they turn ugly on this- I've heard some less than pleasant things about them after I bought my supercharger.

surprise surprise. mine werent stripped. just seal blew at 12,000 miles.

Sounds like that thing is junk. You guys need to file a lawsuit if Vortech doesn't do a recall...especially with all the evidence of failure posted on this site.

Brad's hasnt failed yet, then again its still in the box in my garage ( DOH )
