Inspection after throwing a P0401 found that the green EGR tube (connected to the top nipple) was completely cut in half.
Anyone know the part #? Thanks.

get some rubber hose from autozone with an ID the same as the OD of the tube. slide it on with a little soap/lube and it seals right up. no hassle of replacing the entire vacuum harness.

I suppose it has a part number, but you can buy it by the inch at Ford as "high temperature silicone tubing".
[EDIT]Do not use rubber hose unless you want to replace it every couple of months.

Thanks Ray. With that fix, is there any need for clamps to hold the tubes together, or will friction alone be enough?
If anyone has the part # of the green tube, post it for me for the hell of it. I'm curious to see how much that little bugger costs.

I used the fix Ray suggested, and it's worked fine. The hose sticks on with no help. Also, AutoZone and Advance Auto Parts (and probably others) have vacuum hard lines you can buy. I got some of them to replace my secondary controller's broken line. They're all 1/8" OD, at least the ones I messed with.

Every couple of months?
I had mine on the elbow of the green vacuum hose for a year or more and the rubber is still as pliable and supple(well.. as supple as that rubber can be) as new.

Ok, I picked up two sizes of rubber tubing. One size is a little smaller than the green tube, so I have to force the green tube in some. The other's ID seems about the same size as the green tube's OD. So I should use the latter?

I, personally, would use the smallest id hose you can get to slide a "good" ways on either end.(1/8" doesn't cut it, etc)the tighter the fit the better the fix..

Ray, so even if the ID of the rubber hose I bought is smaller than the ID of the original green hose, as long as I can slide the green one far enough inside the rubber one I'm OK?
It's not going to be a problem that the vacuum flow of the rubber hose isn't as much as the green one?

The green hose ends should touch - I don't see how the rubber could constrict the flow if it's stretched around the hard plastic. If it doesn't seem right, use the bigger one and get it on a few inches. Mine's been fine for about a year.
