To start with, check the fuse. Post more info. Did you hear something snap? Did they just not start? Anything else working? Did they stop as they were going? Etc...

Yesterday, I flicked the lever and it moved a teeny bit and it stopped. The spray nozzles do not work either. As far as I know, everything else works in the car other than the windshield wipers. No, I did not hear anything snap (highly doubt it as it was 1 a.m last night and it was very quiet, would have heard it if something broke).

Can you tell me which fuse to check?

Could be Fuse, stalk (switch) or wiper motor. For the 1996, it is Fuse number 20.
F20 is in the Passenger Compartment Instrument Panel Fuse Box. And the Fuse panel is on the left and under the steering column, near your left knee when you are seated. There is a knob or lever that you push/pull to lower the fuse panel.
