looking for a croch rocket , well im thinking this spring Ill bust a nut and finnaly buy one .

just looking for some info or help , Iv never rode a motorcycle before, I know how its done and understand it tho .

but im 5'7=5'8 and about 165lbs looking for a bike that I can learn on but not get bored with its power and some thing that will fit me .

newer or older bike , thinking a CBR , r6 , older say 91 FZR ...all in the 600cc area

any thoughts or comments would be alot of help

In my opinion the best bike you can get to learn on is an R6...I loved my R6...also had a GSX-R750 and when my car is paid off i think im gonna go back to the R6 because it was such a nice bike...

The handling that bike has surpassed the other bikes ive had...Thats just my opinion though!

I was looking at a R6 and read many reviews raveing about how nimble it is and how smooth the powerband is ..

it is also one of few bikes I can fit on and reach the ground flat foot.

i really kind alike the FZR600R say 90-91 cause they are small and cheap but still quick.
Just like the thought cause they are cheap so if I wipe out learning its not a big deal .

I've always had a soft spot for the Ninja 250. Quick enough to be a lot of fun, dirt cheap, and it's no big deal if you lay it down a few times - which you will. After you learn to ride on something like that, you'll have a better idea of your personal tastes in bikes, and it'll make picking something nicer that much easier. A 600 isn't too much to start on if you're cautious, but it's more money, and more to get in trouble with.

I've got a 97 FZR. It's a great bike to learn on. They are definitely smaller than some of today's 600's so you can really feel how the bike handles. As well as make a few mistakes here and there and not tip it over. I'd definitely consider picking one up if you want a decent starter bike.

I had a lot of fun on it, but now I'm wanting something a little newer.
