it's too bad you're not closer. You should talk to my friend. He's really into this stuff, and he's been at it for about a year. He's got great taste in music, but he can't blend songs for shiz. He's of the opinion that you can blend any 2 gongs together...which i don't believe is true...and he takes too long doing it. I have a cd he made that i listen to all the time. The music is great, but the mixing sucks.

He used to have a stanton turntable set, but he recently saved some money and bought a Pioneer CDJ, which is really cool but he needs a better mixer so he can run the turntables and the cd player at the same time.

getting good at beat matching is simply practice practice practice. That and being familar with the music, just knowing the breakdown of the track makes djing alot easer. I had been djing for 2-3 years before i got good at it, and im still not perfect(as you can tell). The thing that seperates the decent dj's to the real good/great dj's is programing. Knowing when and what to play for any certain situation/crowd, is realy the key to being a sucessful dj. Ill try and host the set again. Im on a slow cable so it takes several hours for me to upload it on yousendit. Ill try to get around to it tonight, after work.
