I am starting to hate exhaust. I have tried like 3 different things.. I wish I understood the exhuast gas flow stuff. Right now I have gutted precats, High Flow Racing Y-pipe, No Cat, I have a Moroso Resonator(3") that had little Baffles around the outside and a streight pipe in the middle. Then after that I have a Dynomax Race Bullut Muffler (2.25) and then I have the stock piping with no rear mufflers and then some small resonated tips. Ok Its LOUD! I am getting sick off how loud it is. I also have this SUPER LOUD turbo sound that no one can find where its coming from. There are no leaks either. So I am thinking of redoing my exhaust a little. I want to crap the Moroso muffler because it is rusting out already and then I want to keep the Dynomax stright muffler on there and then add two Dynomax Magnaflows at the back to quiet things down. I have a few questions....Could that really loud turbo sound be the flex pipe..Mabey its broken??? Or what could it be? Also will the removal of that (kind of restrictive muffler (Moroso) kill my tourqe? And is that Moroso Muffler bad already becuase its a 3" muffler and the rest of the piping is the stock size? I am sorry to ask so many questions it just sounds like my car is falling apart and no one wants to race me becuase they SERIOUSLY think I have a turbo on my car!
I hope some exhuast experts can help me
Thanks in advance.
Joe

"My friend" has gutted pre-cats, Shoshop off-road y pipe, No Cat, no resonator, Dynomax Super Turbo Muffler. Its loud and raspy. So the magnaflows will be just as loud. Too loud.

The exhaust turbine on the turbo provides the right amount of muffling you are looking for. wink

Is this another low confidence vehicle? laugh Why dont you go with a simpler approach when choosing exhaust components, instead of running setups that some people on here has. A straight pipe with no main cat and 2 Supertrapps for starters (my setup).

Seriously! I am not kidding. My car has a Loud Turbo sound. I am actually sick of getting on it (driving quick) because it is so loud..Sounds just like a turbo spooling up but no BOV sound.
Sooo weird.

The sound could be on the intake side of things...

Nope, I put the air can back on and it is still there...Definatly an exhuasy note..I will try to get it fixed tommorow. Also that cheap flex pipe that you get at the auto store: will that work in place of the flex pipe that comes with a SHO SHOP y? That sound could be from a broken flex pipe but I dont want to drop $40 on a new one like that.
