Contour Enthusiasts Group Archives Forums General Troubleshooting Speedometer Cable for 95

My transmission blew in my other car so I need to start driving my contour to work again. I have a 95 contour with the v6 and a manual transmission. I had a mechanic install a new clutch and flywheel for me and in the process he broke the bottom half of my speedo cable and denies breaking it. I am told that the only car that came with a speedo cable is the 95 and in 96 they changed it to electronic. I can not find a 95 contour with manual transmission at any junk yard. I really would like to know how fast I am driving as that is good info to know. This has happened over a year ago and I still have no cable. I love my tour and am willing to put the effort into fixing my problem. Maybe I need to change over my cable and instument cluster to the new electronic stuff But I am not sure what I can do to fix. Please help!
