Okay before i get jumped on and told to use the search ..
i did and it has helped but still at a bit of loss here ..

My tour has a new alt not a rebuild .. put in by the last ovner ,and the batt is in the trunk and its about a year old .

Any ways in high rpm the batt light comes on and my head lights get very bright ! then dim when the batt light goes off.

Also if i let my car sit for a length of time the batt will die .

now i have checked all the wires best i could .
im getting proper volts at idle and with car off ..

but i did notice that with the car off the volts drop ever so slowly .

comments ideas ?
thanks guys

Check wiring from battery to alternator and battery to ground. In addition, test the battery and alternator. There is a good chance the voltage regulator is shot.

Battery test. Engine off, headlights on for one minute. Voltage across terminals should be 12 to 12.5.

Alternator test. Engine running, voltage across terminals should be 14 to 14.5.

i tested the volts anf got 14.4 running and 11.88 car off .. it was in mid 12s then droped and settled at 11.88

where abouts in the tour id the voltage reg ? and any way to test it ?

car runs good starts good .. just in high rpm the car seems to loose power when the batt light comes on and the lights go really really bright ..
