In retrospect, it was all downhill from here. RIP, CEG.

Yep. How'd ya mean it though? Religious friends of mine tell me that I am biased. The funny thing is I catch a bunch of flak for it... but I am able to look at everything the same way (from my point of view). My point of view isn't influenced by random people in a book. I think this gives me a different vantage point, which I enjoy.

I think one of the problems is that you have a small part of a religion that is "left-winged" and the rest of the religion thinks that it is okay to be like that. If the Muslims that didn't approve spoke up it would give the "left-winged" one less leg to stand on and they don't do it.
Look at Iraq, If Aljeria(sp?) TV came on and say "Hey, stop attacking the Allied Forces and let them set up a goverment and they will leave." Maybe it would help, but I don't ever see them doing that.
Just a Plain SE.

Rioting is fun, exciting.... and free! Makes a nice change to an evening of beating your wife(s) and children and bitching about the Jews.
If Islam were not a major religion, we would classify it with the Jimmy Jones like cults for the destructive effects it has on its followers â??? and anyone they encounter.
All this over a set of cartoons!?
I thought the one featuring Mohammad blocking the gates to Muslim "Heaven" and telling a long line of burnt and blown up suicide bombers to â??Go back! Go back! We are all out of virgins!â? was really appropriate.
I remember watching a program (on the Discovery channel I think) exploring the kind of people who become suicide bombers. One young Palestinian man made a tape describing his incentive shortly before who murdered a bunch of people having dinner in a restaurant. He hated the Jews, sure, but more importantly, he was soon to married but decided that he would rather have a dozen virgins in heaven than one virgin here. Simple question of quantity (and maybe some quality!?) of you know what. Powerful incentive for young men.
These poor ignorant fools really believe all this. They are being brainwashed from birth. The people building human bombs in the name of Allah are among the most evil SOBs who have ever lived.
A whole generation will have to die before this kind of damage is undone.
Somewhere in the Islamic world sane people are recoiling in horror over the effect that radical Islam has had on their religion and their world â??why did we let this happen!?!â? You never see them speak out, so by default they are also part of the problem.
If it were simply a local problem, we could look on with horror and pity and hope that in a hundred years the radicalism would have burnt out. Modern technology changes everything. Do you want anyone in that part of the world to possess nuclear weapons? What a perfect way for the Islamic world to handle problems like these cartoons. Demand that the offending country apologize to Islam and execute the publisher â???or â??? nuke their capital.
Instant Compliance with Islamic law!!! Or at least thatâ??s how they would see it.

I totally agree. I was disappointed to see that administration official call it "outrageous;" he's giving the Muslim nutjobs exectly what they want.
