hey I have ford contour 1996 2.0 and im the one with the water pump problem and I almost had it of but i have to take off the crank shaft pulley anyone know how to do this.

yea it just you need to lock up the crank shaft and it doesnt say how to do that.

nvm i found out you have to take the starter off and stick a big screwdriver in the flywheel

There are 2 holes in the pulley. I took a tap and put some threads in them both. Next, screw 2 bolts in. Put a pry bar in between the bolts to hold the pulley in place. You need a 19mm? socket for the center bolt on the pulley. It shouldn't be that tight. Mine came off no sweat!

Your welcome. Taking the starter off is not fun, especially when your not changing it!
