Im not sure if this was posted yet and i hate to bear(sp?) bad news Ford is axing teh Ford GT the Lincoln LS and a high performance model of the Explorer sport trac. I heard ford only had a 2 year production for teh GT anyways but i actually liked it for a ford, but to c it go brings a tear to my eye, also the LS was not a bad car. http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060203/AUTO01/602030367/1148whats up with the domestic car companies going into a sh*thole

Harmon would not discuss the specific reasons for the decision, but said Ford was focusing on giving its customers what they want.
Cop out!

There's your answer on "Why?"

true, and even with the ridiculous pricetag i doubt the GT turns a profit with all of the extensive engineering that went into it, fancy machines and molds, and the hand building. dont worry its not like they're taking all of the ones they sold back and blowing them up

Bah. I wonder how long SVT is going to last. First they dropped the Lightning based on the new F-150 platform and now they drop the Adrenaline. I wouldn't be surprised if SVT is done away with here in the next few years. Thank goodness I didn't wait for them.

No real losses there. The LS has become a smoldering pile of dog crap. A coworker of mine just bought an '05 model, and I cannot believe the plastics they used on the interior of this thing. The surface materials on the contour where imho better.
The GT won't be missed except by the rare collector.
The Sport Trac Adrenaline was the answer to a question no one was asking.

Even though the GT was fast, it was cheap when compared to the other super sport vehicle.
Only rich Ford fans most likely bought the GT cause I could thing of better cars to buy.

well i can see, after releasing the Z06 vett. Same perfrmance and handling. but for 70k.
I was pissed about the vett comparison to Ford GT. Even though u can never replace a GT with a vette. NEVER. But damn GM did a great job!!
I reject your reality and substitute my own.
