The $600+ price is a little steep, but it may actually be feasible here in Southern Cali to buy one as a group. We have quite a few heavily modded Tour(3.0L's and S/C)owners who might be interested in a custom chip programmer.
Help from anyone who can guide me in the right direction will be greatly appreciated.

$600 is just for the read/write hardware and basic software. This is not the cost for the custom programming software, which is now currently to be released in April or May 2002.
