Sunday I replaced my right front control arm.I had problems getting everything to line up,and now my axle is stuck about out about 2" more than it should be.It still turns just fine, intermediate shaft still turns. It looks like the inner CV boot is stretched out. What have I done???

The axle may be hung up outside the axle housing. You may be able to lift the inner end of the axle to get the little rollers back into the housing, but don't bang on it.
I would suggest you feel around the outside of the boot to find any evidence of a roller hung up outside the housing and get it back together.
Good luck.
The rest of you guys, go have a beer or sup'm.

I've had this happen to me before. It will go back into place - you just have to be gentle with it.

So what you're telling me is that the rollers do not have anything that retains them, nothing that fastens them tothe housing.
BTW: thank you,I am so stressed out about this,I just bought 2 new koni's, LCA's,tie rods,2 new tires, and I really don't want to have to buy a new axle.

Correct. Typical in front drive cars - CV joints. Last innards of an axle I looked at were from a Toyota Corolla. Little tri-pod roller configuration, I've seen pictures of some that use large ball bearing arrangements.
If you're curious & you've got a Haynes manual, it may have a picture of the inner axle assembly as part of the overhaul proceedure...

Yep, don't sweat it. Search around and you'll find some threads on the topic. It's kind of tricky to get it back in place, but if you look at the diagrams it makes a lot of sense. Just mess with it and it'll slip back in. Only one person effed up in this thread, and it wasn't you. It's very hard to change the LCAs without this happening.
