Weapon-R has developed a new piggy back ECU for the Cougar/Contique that is now ready for sale.
Using a fairly stock Cougar V6 with only intake(including cold air box, see other post) and a cat-back exhaust the Cougar dyno'd at 150 hp to the wheels. After adding the INTERCREW ECU the Cougar then re-dyno'd at 160hp whp.
A 10 hp gain for the ECU alone.
This ecu is currently a STAGE 1: Intake/exhaust.
Future stages(currently under development) will be made available and will include such modifications as SVT Manifold/TB, Forced Induction, 3L.
Installation requires the soldering of a few wires, so most DIYers can do this mod in their own garage. However, if you dont feel up to the task, have your local performance shop install it for you.
Retail price for this ECU is $750 with an introductory sale of $650 for the first 5 ECU's ready to be shipped.
If you have any questions feel free to ask. Leo from Weapon-R will be here to answer all of your questions.

Go over to the NECO message board (forums.fastcougar.com) under the Duratec Performance section. There has been alot of discussion on the ECU and some other of Weapon-R's new parts.
However, if you have any specific questions please post them here for Leo to answer.

What needs to be investigated is: will this work under a positive pres (positive intake pressure such as blown/turbo)...if so that is a good thing.....

IMHO, certainly not worth the money. That kind of cash can get you a custom dyno tune, which will be much better (unless of course you have someone like Honkeytonk monkey doing the tuning)
It's all about balance.

$650 could buy a lot of components that may net more than 10hp.
How much did the apexi net any of the guys like stazi? Anyone get that thing dyno tuned yet?
Kharma is very real and she is one mean b!tch.

If it has the ability to deal with positive manifold pressure it can be a good thing......

Currently will these units work on both normal duratecs and SVT-tuned motors?

I'm still puzzled as to why they are selling a secondary ECU for over $700 and it's still not programmable.
You can get a DiabloSport chip programmer for $610 and reprogram a chip till the cows come home. Even do your buddies' chips.

$750 for a generic chip. I believe there are 2 others out for less than 1/3 that cost thank you!
Custom chip, S-AFC, dyno time = ~$600 Plus the ability to re-tune it later if needed...
Plus like Chris said. For less than $650 you can get a diablo chip programmer!
I do not see the benefit at all in your product and you've only worked on but ONE PCM code of many...
