Before reading this, please be advised WeaponR is looking for a CEG member to swing by their San Francisco location to see if the contour hood affects this box at all.

Weapon*R's new Cold Air boxes are made of 6061 Aluminum, Lazer Cut and precision folded for a clean and true fit. The Weapon*R Cold Air Box is the answer to enthusiasts which want the cold air performance, but are weary of the dangers which come with conventional cold air kits. This kit utilizes Technology seen in many forms of racing.
Keeping the filter in a safe area and Isolating the filter from Horsepower robbing heat.

Intake System NOT INCLUDED.
May Be purchased Separately or with Intake System.

Built For The Dragon Intake

Our Never ending pursuit of perfection has led us to create The Dragon Filter. The design concept of the dragon filter was to refine the V2. Our research and development team, aimed towards designing a filter that dramatically increased airflow and velocity of the intake charge.
With use of our Patent Pending design of the Air Turbulance Defuser, performance is Virtually Unparalleled with the use of the Internal Twin
Velocity Stack, Ram Air attachment capability and louvered external Air Guide Cage. We now feature a Three piece design. It was specifically designed for the ease of cleaning and filter element replacement.

Add On Ram Air Kit

The Dragon Filter Ram Air Kit is an addition to the performance section of the 2002 line-up. The Ram Air Kit comes with an adapter for the top of the filter, a flexable hose and a universal fit ram air snorkel. Performance Gains will be noted immediately. Ram Air has been an age-old horsepower producing factor. Why? Because it has been tried and true. The kits are available in the same colors as the Dragon filters for easy
color coordination

Colors are: Red, Blue, Yellow or Chrome

For those of you with the KKM or Injen. This box is capable with your intake but you will have to drill a hole in the box for the IAT sensor.

This is very interesting.

Just have a few questions?

-How large of a Filter will fit in the Air Box? IS there room around the filter inside the Air Box?

-Can the Ram Air kit be used with the Air Box? If so how does that work?

-The KKM as it sits in my car right now, rubs my hood. I'm wondering if this will even fit?

-Have you considered selling kit which requires a Battery relocation kit, and consists of some sort of bent pipe to direct the filter...etc to where the battery used to sit? Some silicon hoses might do the trick as well?

Nice work on the new products

IMHO, I think that $149 for the cold air box is a rip off. I can make the same box with minimum effort and materials for $30!

I have to agree with that....I may just buy the ram air kit....and make my own air box, I'm just not sure that a completely enclosed off box would be the best. If it wasn't designed properly, it might end up hurting more than helping. Might create a vacuum...etc if you don't have enough air flow?

Correct me if I'm wrong!

I am not here to argue, I can do that on NECO.

1. I don't think the desgin could be redone by many if any on the forums. The box is designed for not only performance, but has excellent cuts and bends to be appealing during a car show.

2. The air box has been dynoed on a dynojet and when combined with the ECU, this box smoothed out the power band.

3. The ram Air kit simply brings raming air up from the bottom of the car without the risk of rain or water. Kinda like the old 5.0 Mustang Kits

The cold air box that the guy from NECO is selling is not completly closed off, but is similiar to the stock airbox that comes with CSVT's.
From looking at the pictures, it looks like you would also need the ram air kit for another $59 to benefit from the purchase.

Also, I dont see any significate parts that is supplied with the kit he is providing. I mean, most of the components look like home made parts, such as vacuum cleaner attachments and a stainless steel box!

I guess to each his own.

AutumnOrange

I am not doubting the benefits from the kit(s), I am stating the fact that the price is way too high for the components supplied with the kit.

I guess I am not looking at the kit from the perspective of an average CEG'r - I am looking at the kit from an engineer's standpoint.

Thank you for the post Autumn Orange, please inform us if this fits the Contique. This might be a good box for my KKM, TIA.
