How much are your power bills in the winter? I have electric heat and my power bill varies from $60 to $200 depending on how cold the weather is.

I have gas heat & water, an old house with leaky windows everywhere and almost no insulation in the walls, and literally none in the ceilings... My heat bills topped out at $175 for one month with my electric that month being $40, and that was December, the coldest month we have had (Jan. has averaged about 55-70 degrees everyday)

this past month my bill was $230, mind you I have natural gas, my home is over 100years old and the furnace is about 10yo. I didn't think it was too bad from what I was expecting anyway. It wasn't nearly as cold as it usually is around this time of the year though so we'll see.

I live in a 2nd floor, 2 bedroom apartment and our power bills are usually $50-60... which makes my half of it $30 or less. :-)

California, Bay Area.

Very mild climate. Rarely below 35 at night with avg. winter highs in the upper 50's.
Summer highs are generally in the upper 70's low 80's with low humidity. Bay Breeze comes in almost nightly and sweeps out all the smog and valley heat. A rare night when a sweatshirt is not needed in the summer. Lows in the summer are in the upper 40's and low 50's. Air conditioning is rarely needed.

Avg bill is about $55/mnth at my 3drm apt with most homes coming in with natural gas & electric combined in the $80-$100 range.

I have electric heat and a pellet stove. My house is small enough that we can us the pellet stove to keep the house at 70 and we spent 1.33 for a bag of pellets. that will last about 5 days if we turn it off when we are gone.

Well I live in MN, I forgot to mention that this was just my heating bill, I pay about 50-60 a month for electricity as well. (too darn many things running all the time I guess.)
