Yes I searched and read the FAQ and it says the manual requires 5.8qts, but in the walk through it says 6.5qts to fix the oil starvation problem. My question is...should I put 5.8 or 6.5? Do a lot of people use 6.5qts to fix this supposed problem or is this just one guys opinion? I would like a few peoples view on how much oil they put in instead of just one. Thanks.

Welcome . Engine oil half quart above max. line and coolant half inch above max. line. This what I do anyway.

I would recommend to use 6.5 quarts of oil. It will help prevent a rod knock. Its said by many v6 contour owners.

Absolutely run 6.5 qts. If you get it too full you end up bathing the rank and losing power/foaming the oil, but that happens somewhere north of 7.0 qts. 6.5 is good for the street, when racing I run 7qts, without problems.
