I have a Dell Latitude and all of a sudden my touch-pad mouse seems to be acting quite awkwardly, if i try to move the cursor after i let off the pad it seems to quickly "pull" itself back to a different position, anyone with an idea as to why it is doing this and how to fix it?

Obvious question:
Is the touchpad clean? Have you made sure that nothing is on it? If there is dirt or something on it it could see that as your finger and when you move it pulls it back... just a thought.

Just cleaned it and it still did it, but suddenly a few minutes later it's working again.

Sounds pretty likely ... the symptoms described sound just like if you were holding two fingers on your trackpad and trying to use it that way (the cursor compromises by going in the middle, then 'pulls back' toward the other finger when you let go of one). There may be something encouraging the cursor to believe that there is contact somewhere on the trackpad.

I have noticed improvments by updating the touchpad software. Go to Dell and check it out
