Trust me you're missing much for not getting those engines!
The XR6 engine is based on an old engine with it's roots back in the '60s.
The 220kW V8 is their effort to try and compete with the Chev LS1 350 cube motor that comes out in the competing Holden Commodore and Holden Special Vehicles models. It based on the old Windsor block and is soon to be discontinued over here.
The Falcons are all made here in Australia and are far from related to the European Mondeo.
High tech they ain't. The Falcon got a split length inlet manifold on the six about five years ago and independent rear suspension was only introduced about two years ago and only on the dearer models!
