Okay all i have been on this board for a while and i havent come across anyone mentioning the Tickford Motors. The Falcon being the Mondeo's cousin on the other side of europe and sporting a few powerhouse motors (164 kW 4.0L 6cyl. engine,
172kW 4.0L 6cyl. Engine with Variable Camshaft Timing (VCT), and 220kW V8 engine.) How come there has been no talk of these not to mention the beautiful kits and looks (That would never fit). Check these sites www.ford.co.au www.tickford.com

Trust me you're missing much for not getting those engines!

The XR6 engine is based on an old engine with it's roots back in the '60s.

The 220kW V8 is their effort to try and compete with the Chev LS1 350 cube motor that comes out in the competing Holden Commodore and Holden Special Vehicles models. It based on the old Windsor block and is soon to be discontinued over here.

The Falcons are all made here in Australia and are far from related to the European Mondeo.

High tech they ain't. The Falcon got a split length inlet manifold on the six about five years ago and independent rear suspension was only introduced about two years ago and only on the dearer models!

If you want to see some more Aussie cars check out www.hsv.com.au -they are Tickfords competitors and have some serious muscle. Their vehicles are based on the Holden Commodore, see www.holden.com.au

Awesome, another Aussie!
What's up mate? You're pretty quiet on this board.
BTW I'm from Perth (Go Glory!).

I keep telling everyone that the Falcon's are sh!t.
HSV's are way better, gimme one of those New GTO300 (Monaro). But all the same Aussie cars aren't that flash compared to say, a Beemer or an Audi.
But then again the Fords and Holdens back home in Oz are fu(king WAAAAYYY better than any of the poor offerings that GM and Ford have here in the States.
The Corvette and The Mustang are the only decent American only cars from these clowns all the rest are either junk, underpowered or just plain ugly; like a hat full of arseholes!
