the only thing touchless are good for is blasting off excessive amounts of road salt.
i brought the SVT through one a few years ago and a large chunk of ice fell off the arm and slammed into the passenger side door.
luckily it didnt damage or scratch it.
then getting out of the thing was another issue, the 3" ice step leading out of the thing was a bear to get over!

Same thing happened to my 2000 at a touchless car wash. It was mid winter and we were going on vacation for a week so the night before I figured I'd run it through the car wash to get all of the salt off before we left. The wash went fine, but as I went to leave I hear bang and the side skirt was on the ground.

Hope it works out for you!

Could never go through one. After I lowered my car I found out the hard way......sitting the subframe on the rail while it dragged me through the wash.

I have also hated the film that both the touchless washes and the power wash leave. The answer is to take a bucket of soapy water with you to the touchless wash. Simply go over the car with a the soapy rag rinsing regularly, and then spend 1.50 and thoroughly spray it off. This has always worked for me.

Well the car wash's insurance company are going to love me after this quote. I talked to them on the phone today and they asked me to get a quote from an autobody shop and then fax it over to them. So I went down to my local autobody shop to find out how much to replace the side skirt. I had them do work on my car twice before and they did an excellent job both times. Looked brand new after.

I figured about $450-500 roughly in my head. Nope, I was wrong!

$694.27 after tax.

Breakdown:

LT Rocker molding strap x 5 - $15.65
LT Rocker molding w/ SVT black - $215.43
LT Rocker molding retainer larger - $22.78
LT Rocker molding retainer medium - $33.26
LT Access cover rear w/ SVT black - $22.25
Flex additive - $15.00

Body labor - 1.5 hours @ $50/hour - $75.00
Paint labor - 3.5 hours @ $50/hour - $175.00
Paint supplies - $80.50
Misc. - $15.00

$654.97
+ $39.50 tax
Grand Total - $694.27

She actually asked me that on the phone, if I noticed if that one had a sign posted or not. And it didn't.
