OK. I got my new speakers today from eBay. Two are 3-way (Pioneer TS-A687OR) and two are 4-way (Pioneer TS-A688OR).
Then it hit me. Which would be better in front, and which would be better in the back? The 4-way look like they would provide better highs, so I was thinking front with them. They are rated at 240Watts (max) and the 3-way speakers are 220Watts (max) if that makes any difference.
Thoughts? Eventually I might throw a sub in, but for now, I am just working through getting the non-factory speakers, and the new head-unit installed (waiting on the amp bypass cable for that)...

4 Way in the front 3 Way in the back you want to keep the high frequencies, and thus the soundstage in front of you. You may actually want to cut the highs to the rear speakers with a filter if you can. By the way where did you get your speakers I was thinking about picking up the same 4ways; let me know how they sound once installed.

I got all 4 speakers from a guy on eBay. They were used, but he did an awesome job packing them and they look brand new. Paid $80 which included shiping to my house. I looked at Best Buy this past weekend and the 3-ways sold for $83 and the 4-ways sold for $107. $190+ 6% tax (for me)and you've got $201.40 for new. This should work out to be a $121.40 savings by going used. They also came out of a Ford, so they have ford connectors on them. No snipping, no soldering, just hook them up...
I'll post an update after this weekend when I get the speakers installed.

I got the exact same 3-ways as you did. Except I did all 4 3-way speakers. You wont be dissapointed in them. I got them for my birthday, but they were on sale for $50 a pair, and origionally cost 80. They sound awesome.

Got the speakers installed today. They sound great. Even better when I replaced the head unit and bypassed the factory amp. Nice product.
