What should I use to seal off the top of a home made cold air box around a KKM filter?

I have a KKM that needs a sheetmetal box around it for heat shielding. Right now it has a $6 Coleman camping pad as a shield - it works, but needs a more permanent, aesthetically pleasing solution. Forming the sheet metal is no problem, I just need some sealing material to seal off against the hood. Maybe weatherstripping? Any suggestions?

FWIW a heat shield, any heatshield, needs air flow between it and the object you are trying to shield!,the cool air should flow in and take the heat out, must have a flow or the air dead-heads!!!

Terry, I hear you. I am using the stock fender-to-engine-compartment opening as the inlet. My box is just going to block off the area around the MAF to keep the heat out. Cool air will flow in as you, the OE guy, intended.....
