Seems like my fuel pump is on its way out. Engine dies out and it's a lot worse if the tank is low. What is a good replacement? Read through this forum and have seen posts about the fuel pickup screen. They way it acts I don't think that's the problem. It sort of shuts down and then comes back??

Also, what should I expect to pay for a new blower resistor?

$15 to $20 for the part. Labor is probably one to two hours. Do it yourself for free.

Edit.
Check out this thread for the part numbers.

Buy The FSVT Smartpump man... If You're Going To Remove Everything To Get The Pump Out And Remove The Screen...You Might As Well Put A New Pump In It. The Returnless Style Pumps Seem To Clog A Lot And Fail Prematurely Just Due To The Design Of The Returnless System. The Pump Itself Is Only Around 110$ And Is Plug And Play. ICEFURY And I Just Installed One This Weekend. We Pulled The Entire Tank Which You Dont HAVE To do, But I Recommend It So You Can Clean Out The Crud Trapped In The Tank. Definitely Do This Mod If You're Going In There Anyway. If You Need Any Pointers Pm Me Or ICEFURY.

Pulled the blower resistor about a month ago. Scraped the coating off and repaired it. So far it holding but I'm afraid to use the second highest speed. That was the part of the element that burnt open. I'll pick one up and replace it.

It's getting worse:) This morning it was hard to start. After cranking a while it fired up. Backed up, started to go forward and it quit. After a while I was able to find the Schrader valve and tested for fuel. None. So I added two gallons of gas and cycled the fuel pump a few times. Fired right up, ran rough a few seconds and is now quasi normal. It won't be long now:)
