I was checking my fuses today and noticed I dont have a fuse in slot 8 under the hood. The diagram say a 30 should be in this slot. I dont have a manual and have done a search and cant find anything about this. Does anyone know what this slot is for?

Take a look in the socket, there should be metal contacts in the holes for the fuse legs, if one or both are missing there is no connection. My 1998 service CD shows no fuse 8 underhood, my 1995 manual shows fuse 8 not used.

The other fuses have orange plates that hold the fuse in this slot does not. My engine light comes on after I run the heat for about 10 mins but not if I dont run the heat and I was told it was something to do with the exhaust system making it do that and thought that might be it.

Thanks for all the replys

Next, Scan for codes and be sure your car is not overheating.

A scanner wont connect I was looking to see if I had a fuse blown to make it not connect. When the scanner is plugged in it gets power and tries to connect but wont. The temp gauge doesnt go up when running the heat.

Thanks

Did you check under dash fuses, fuse holder swings down above your left foot.
