Just found wheels i like, but just want to make sure they will fit on my CSVT. the specs are below.
18x7
215/35-18
4-108
offset 45mm
can someone please explain to me what the offset means and how that has to do with the width of the rim. thanx for the help.

Look at the stickies posted at the top of this forum - one labelled "FAQ" and the other "Question on offset". Both of those should answer your question. The bolt pattern you have listed is correct for this car.

i have checked both of those, and havent found anything that would help me. my car is lowered but i dont know with what type of suspension. i am pretty sure they will fit, but i am not 100% sure that the tire size will work with that offset of 45mm. can anyone help? thanx

Although the 225/40 are recommended, if they already have 215/35, that'll still work ok. It'll just look very rubberbandish and you have more of a chance of damaging the wheels if you hit something.

I would try to sell the 215/35's. I had them for a summer and hated them. Ended up going back to 225/40's.

should be using 215/40-18 at a minimum, 225/40-18 is also a favorite among many The 35's will decrease the diameter over stock and substantially reduce the side wall and make for a very rubber bandish look They also will have very harsh/rough ride and you more than likely will end up damaging the rims. The wheels will be fine...just get new rubber. A civic or focus owner will that the 215/35-18's off your hands for sure

your welcome and to answer your question about offset. The wheel's offset is the distance from its hub mounting surface to the centerline ... http://www.yokohamatire.com/utcustom.asp
a bunch more here... search link
From B.A.T. www.batinc.net http://64.202.180.37/files/cwheel.pdf
The Contour is a unique application for road wheels. They are designed for use with (hub-centric) wheels in a 38-50mm offset- not the most common application in the states. We import factory Ford European Ford "Rally Sport" brand wheels, or supply proven aftermarket brands that we know fit the car properly.
