Any insight would be appreciated. I have 96 contour with the 2.5. I did a search about one problem, the overdrive light flashes after driveing for about 20 min. I am going to take it to autozone to get the codes check. Witch brings me to the next problem I hooked a scanner to it and it wont connect. Any suggestions? Also I replaced the rely in the drivers side power window and it was working but now it wont go up the rely just clicks. Just got this car running and all the is left is to get it inspected and get the power sterring presure line replaced. We tried to replace it today and it is a pain in the ass. I have broke down and I am going to take it to a shop. sorry for the loing post. If anyone can help I would appreciate it.

The main problem I am concerned about is the scanner not connecting. If it wont connect will then they wont be able to inspect this car, because they wont conect with theirs. Any suggestions? The ford dealership has already got me for a grand.

I would start with the fuse for the OBDii port. I believe it's the same one as the cigarette lighter? Check all your fuses and make sure they're still good.

The lighter works and I am goin gto check them all in a minute. Would it be in the fuse box under the hood or under the dash? I am missing a fuse under the hood in slot 8. I dont have a manual does anyone know what thisslot is for the diagram under the fusebox lid says there should be a 30 there.

No fuses blown, ther scanner had power andit doesnt have its own power supply it runs off the car so I sont think it is a power problem is there anything else I can try?
