Awhile back my sunroof got stuck open as I was leaving for school. I didn't need my car so I let the problem sit. Since, I have been bored over winter break so today I fooled around with it.

I tried the FAQ fix and it did nothing. The motor worked but made a terrible sound. The sunroof would also move about 2 inches or so.

I then operated the motor with the cover off it. What I noticed was the plastic part that connects to knob, comes out of place when the button is pushed.

I have no idea what is causing this. Insight would be greatly appreaciated.
