From time to time my monitor loses the color red. It appears bluish when it happens. I've tried wiggling the cable and re-installing video drivers to no avail. It will just happen on it's own. And it will correct itself on it's own. Does this sound like a monitor problem to you? It's a KDS 17" flat screen CRT. I know it's not the best brand, but my old one went out one night and they had them on sale at wallyworld. One good thing is KDS has a good warranty.

yeah..this has happened a couple of times. One time, it was an internal problem with the monitor. The second time it turned out to be a short in the VGA cable near the connector. If i bent it the right way it would be fine.

It's a KDS, that's your problem.

definitely something wrong with the internals. your best bet is to pick up a new one for $100 from CC or BB?

Try running the self-test (remove the cable from the PC). Is the test pattern lacking red? Also, could be video card, although I had an NEC monitor that dropped blue color, many solder joints were bad, if the KDS has warranty, that's good news for you, time to upgrade
