OP Ike_dup1 CEG\'er I Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 129 St. Louis, MO	Sometimes when I start my car in the morning, the engine has a bit of a whining sound. In fact, it sounds EXACTLY like a tea kettle (you know the high pitch whistle). It seems to go away after a few minutes, but the only conclusion I can come to is a squeaky belt or pulley bearing. Has anyone else had this problem? '98 CSVT Black -AEM short-ram intake -Optimized TB -Optimized y-pipe -Magnaflow cat-back -B&M short-throw shifter -UD pulleys -Poly mount "It's quicker than it was stock!"

If it is the belt, replace with Goodyear Gatorback belts. Much better than the standard belt choices. 2000 CSVT Frost Silver 3.0 Hybrid

How would I expect anybody to know what the whining noise is if they can't even listen to my engine and tell me firsthand themselves? However, I AM (hopefully) getting a set of underdrive pulleys soon, and obviously a new belt to go along w it. This modification will tell me if it was a belt/pulley bearing situation or not (unless it's one of the pulleys I'm NOT changing DAMNIT!). In the meantime, I'm going to assume it is the occasional visit from are dearly and NEVER belovedly friend, "THE MOOSE" I don't think I like mooses. Did I jes say "mooses"?
