Alright guys I need some help. I'm looking for a new digital camera. I'm looking for something that is compact (read as : easily slipped into and out of the pocket after a few drinks at the bar), prob. around 5 mp (seems to be readily available for under $200), decent sized LCD screen, preferable use of a rechargable battery, use of an SD card for memory, and around $200. Video would be nice but is not a necessity. I'm looking for some personal opinions of what you've got or if you know of any good deals out there. Thanks in advance.

Olympus stylus...all those features 4 megapixels, video, slips well into pockets n stuff. Mine is 2 years old...I've sat on it and slightly broken the screen, but it still works great.

A little more pricy, but I've got a Casio EX-Z57 that's 5MP and is very slim (talking ~1/2" thick), but packs a 2.7" LCD.

I picked it up for just under $300 at Walmart, then was kicking myself when I saw a Fuji Z1(?) at Best Buy that was cheaper, about the same size/specs, but had 30fps video (my Casio is 15fps).

Oh, and I gotta mention that it's incredibly fast... I can take a picture with flash and only wait 1/4-1/2 second before the flash is ready again. No flash pictures are instant... no waiting for it to store the image (it probly does it in the background or something, while still allowing you to take more pictures).

Wow, I didn't know that Panny was that cheap at $230! Before Christmas I bought a Canon A610 from Dell for $210 to my door, very similar specs but I think a larger form factor. Still, I'm happy with it but it's a bit big to stick into a pocket. The real kicker for me was that I bought it because I thought my old digicam was dead, it wouldn't even turn on. Turns out that the problem was the charger for my rechargable AA batteries was dead Good excuse for an upgrade though.

I just picked up a Canon Powershot A520 for $195 and am very pleased with it.
