After only a couple of drives in the Focus SVT I find it to be a really fun car to drive. It seems to be a bit more capable in the corners then the CSVT, but the contour rides and feels more refined. I think I'm just feeling the new to me car feel and the contour is just a little less harsh but just as sharp. but the ride of the focus is very sweet for a car with such a small wheelbase and just tight control.

I tell you i like the little things more though: the traction control and heated seats are great for winter driving, the stock HIDs and indigos, the autophile soundsystem is one of the best sounding factory gigs i've heard, especially for a car under $22k new. the build quality on the contour seems better as well. the plastic thingies (tirm ad such) in the focus look cleaner and nicer but are not as solid. i can't say i like the 6-disc changer either. it is interminally slow during disc changes and does not offer enough change in the dynamic range as i like. Other thing is the thing as just about as much usable interior space as the contour, a much heavier car. a good two or three inches of back seat leg room for sure.

overall, i wish i could keep both.

Im from Chicago...but saw this topic and I just had to comment. I like both cars FSVT and the CSVT. But It would be a hard decision on which one to keep. I think I would go with the CSVT simply because its bigger. I dunno? I would like both!

Is the FSVT a 5 or 3 door Either way, the FSVT has more content and more quality content. Also, if you wanna get a blower for it, it seems to be more reliable. Theres also more mods readily available for it too, what a concept!

Most is alot of my friends fsvt's with just a cai are running 15.4 to 15.3. I was like wooo. when he came home with the slip. Then on i was scared to race him. Those cars easily hit a 14.9 with a few bolt ons, our cars have to be loaded with bolt on's to hit that in a 1/4 mile. Many svts here run a 15.7

Overall its a nice car. Just looks like a little boys car to me?? I can't see myself to drive it. But overall it is a better handling car!!

Agreed! The FSVT is definitely built with more content and better components and seems to have a better initial (<23K :-)) quality. some of the plastic parts are cheap like the moonroof moter cover, but over all a much better executed platform.

However.........the CSVT is just more smooth.

I have the 3 door but i still feel the focus and more room. it is harder to get in the back seat though. of course, i'm 42 and haven't crawled back there in many years ;-)

It's even better the guy before me put a bassini rice exhaust on it. man it sounds awful. The exhaust will be changed to a vibrant by week's end. Anyways, I did buy it as my winter car and for my son when he turns 16 next spring.

Why do people always forget that Marc Painter showed that it was possible to run a 14.7 in a nearly stock CSVT? (Bassani catback and a k&n filter is all he had done)
