Hello,
I have a '96 Ford Contour w/ 66k miles on it. This morning when I started my car I found that I could only recieve heat from the defroster setting. The switch would not allow for heat to be directed torwards the floor, and the high setting for the fan would not work. The other fan settings worked. I browsed the other FAQ's on these forums to see if I could find an answer for my problem but none of them seemed to be applicable. Your advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

There's a blower motor recall on our cars.

Best bet is to call Ford's 1-800 number and ask customer service if your car still applies for it.

You may have the vacuum actuator problem: defrost only and your resistor pack may also have gone bad: blower resistor
