Hi all,

My g/f left the Mystik's lights on about a week ago while I was out of town, and it flattened the battery.

Upon returning I noticed it was dead, and that the ambient temperature was -20C so I popped the caps and sure enough the electrolyte is frozen.

I've pulled the battery from the car and the case looks intact, but I'm not sure if there could be internal damage (shifted plates, etc), so I'm afraid to let it thaw in my house (hmm, acid on the floor). I'm equally concerned about attempting to give it a charge again.

Anyone know what the deal is for frozen batteries?

Thanks,

Steve.

Let it thaw a day or so, in a tray of some sort so no leaks will get on the floor. If it leaks, it's done. Try to charge it with a battery charger, full charge (in garage). Try it, if bad, you just need a new battery. If the battery is old, I'd change it, Motorcraft BXT40R I believe.
