1st and 3 gear works its an auto, 268,000 km ztec
2nd gear doesnt work
anyone have any idea if this is an easy fix or not?
the car drives and reverses fine but the seller just said 2nd gear was gone lol

Soo let me see if I can see what you are saying... When you put the car in drive... it will go from 1st... accelerate, overrev in first, and harshly shift into 3rd gear? My brother's Lebaron used too do that. He neeeded a new trannie, so he said to hell with it and bought a new car.

yeah the guy i bought it from knows cars faily well, does his own maintenance and brakes etc so i would assume its not an easy fix

Scan for codes, see what you get. Shift solenoid, wiring? Did you try hand shifting 1,2,3, then switch on o/d?

drive it around a parking lot fo an hour or so last night lol didnt have any problems cant be anything to serious
