History of my tranny. When I bought the 'Tour, I found that the tranny was shifting bad. We had the tranny rebuilt (not on our work order, but was done free after raising hell at the shop), and it still had that problem, but only after driving at freeway speeds for long amounts of time.

The car now kinda bang shifts. It'll kick into gear, rather than transition smoothly. I am under the impression that it may be low on ATF again, but before I put in my remaining bottles of ATF, should I do something beforehand?

I know this doesn't help much, but my fiancee's contour has unusually hard "snap" shift on the 1-2 shift and sometimes the 2-3 shift...it doesnt happen every time, but when it does, it's usually when the accelerator is just pressed lightly to speed up. I.E. grandma driving. Also feels like it shifts at a "too high" RPM. a couple hundred more than it should, maybe. they just had the filter changed and tranny flushed 1 year ago, ~12k miles ago, I wouldn't think it would be low, but it's worth checking.
