I don't think there's a Hyundai Accent GT of the same year range as mine (2000-2002).

whoops, I guess I didnt realize one was out. "The GT model, starting at $11,399, adds stiffer suspension, 14-inch wheels and a little spoiler on the rear. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard - and that's the only way to maximize power from the 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine." haha...ADDS 14 inch wheels

I've thought about selling the SVT and buying something more reliable. My tranny needs rebuilt, constantly grinds first, and the check engine light for the precats is on. I can't seem to let go of it, I love the styling and handling, but I could easily see myself in your boat if things get worse. I attend college as well, and it's hard to work on the car when school needs most of your attention. Even harder when you work to pay for everything as well.

I had a new 1998 Hyundai Accent 5 speed, not a good car, thay wear out fast and use a lot of gas for the HP(78), I had a 93 SHO at the same time, only $10.00 diff in, gas on a 300 mile trip, when it was time to go for a drive, I would say,(lets take the good car the SHO), and it had 110000Ms on it and the Hyundal had only 20000Ms, so no more Accents for me.

my gf used to have a Hyundai Elantra...that car was so damn small. It felt like it had no power steering and was just plain slow...ridiculously slow, like one of those old cars you can't take on the freeway slow. But if you're like my gf and only like cars from getting from point A to point B then I guess its a decent buy. Although if I was looking for a newer reliable car I'd look into a Saturn before I chose a Hyundai. Their newer cars are definitely improving and at the very least more appealing...

Well, this is a Contique site after all. At any rate, the 100K warranty will be useful. And you will be using it - maybe not as much as owners of earlier models did but the trick is to keep taking it back everytime something breaks. Many manufacturers have warranties or return policies knowing full well that people these days will get tired and not bother with stuff after a certain point. Mail in rebates are a good example. Some people just don't want to spend the time. Karl
