Ahhhh good point!! Both companies are doing the same promotion where they sell their minivan, and you get their econobox FREE! I don't keep up with either company, so I don't know what models each sell. Just trying to reference what they were doing.

That's amazing. Few enough people are buying minivans I'm sure only 2% of those are buying Kia minivans.

Good little reliable cars. My Girlfriend had a 99, never really had too many problems with it except for the ATX and sensors. When we traded it in though the engine was about to blow but that was with 110K.
Thing was horrible in the snow though....the back end would whip out so easy upon braking it sent her into a spin many times.
I'd look into the warranty though. Last I knew the 10 year/100,000 mile warranty didn't transfer with the car. Or at least thats what the paperwork for newer Hyundai's say.
Good luck with it.

I like the Accent, I wouldn't mind pimpin the DOHC w/ 5 speed. My buddy just bought the SOHC Accent for $400, put in a junk yard radiator and sold the car for $1000.

I don't think there's a Hyundai Accent GT.

I took one for a spin, almost bought the same exact car as a beater, kinda wish I did.. my tour is a piece of unreliable trash.. worse then my 96 was. unfortunatly the accent was just to cramped for me, that was my only problem, oh and it was gutless.. lol just like my contour.
at least you got something a hell of alot more reliable, and better on gas! good commuter car, congrats on the purchase!
Thnx. And yes I bought the car for reliability purposes and gas is really cheap.

No really i keed i keed....
Thats a cool car
The Festiva wouldn't pass the emissions test and wasn't worth sinking money into it.

I don't understand the adjectives used in describing your car on CarDomain though, unless they're sarcasm .. "amazing 105 HP" .. "whopping 106 ft-lbs torque" .. "huge 14" wheels"?
Well, no, it's not a step forward but it's a step to a better future (reliability). The Mystique was getting way to pricey in repair costs. I paid double the car's value on repairs and the last straw was the damn transmission. So I gave up hope for the Mystique. And yes that's sarcasm regarding the adjectives used on my page.

that car is probably more reliable then any contour... you guys diss a car thats purpose is to get ppl from point a to point b in a reliable manner, its not suppose to be a great fancy car.. but I know for sure it does the job better then a contour.. my contour has 146,000 kms and I can make a list of how much crap broke on the pos already.. I'm close to tossing it and just driving my god damn civic this winter.
I totally agree. My contour had 135 000 kms and it was costing me way to much money in repairs.

I'm sure you'll have good luck with it. Did you get the balance of the 5 year and 10 year warranties??
At the price point of Hyundai and the warranty they come with, they'd be at the top of my list for a future purchase (if I ever buy a new car again).
Yup, I got the balance of the 5 yr warranty and a seperate 5 yr warranty from the dealer.

HA HA HA so true buddy so true!
Yes very true.
The only reason i didn't buy another Contour or Mystique was because of past experiences. The Mystique has been a pain in the butt since I got it in '03 at 68 000 kms. Hence, the reason why i bought a Hyundai was reliabilty, warranties and the price. I appreciate your comments and thank you for taking the time to comment on my recent purchase (which I enjoy), even though most comments are negative.
This site has been very helpful when it came down to fixing the Mystique's problems. Sure, i'll miss the mystique but the Hyundai will make up for the loss.

Nice little car. Looks like you got exactly what you wanted, and I wish you good luck with your new (used) car. Originally posted by msvg: the previous owner said he calculated on average 37 MPG.
My Contour got 38 MPG. Well, once
