i was talking to another member about this last night...i have noticed that the market seems to be fading for most parts..back..ohh about four years ago when i bought my first svt uim they were going for about 400-500 dollars all day,sometimes more. The other day i posted my svt uim on ebay,and noticed two others for sale too,none of them with any bids or watchers..i've seen them for sale as cheap as 250..still no takers. Same for most of the parts on my car, last year i was thinking of getting rid of it and i had all kinds of emails, i want your hood,bumper,skirts..etc,etc..nothing now,and the hood is really rare,i've only ever seen one on this site..just wondering if anyone else who's tried to sell parts noticed this trend..def. a buyers market now..

Many people have moved on to other cars so demand has fallen for parts. What do expect since our cars have not been made since 2000? Even the Cougar has not been made since 2002.
Look at the SHOs. There are still a few very diehard owners. I think the same will haven with our cars. In another 5 five years, there will be a few diehard owners. Hell I might be one of them. What do think? I have a 2000 SVT with 170,000 miles.

You know zxtuner now has the hood listed for less than what we paid?
I'm guessing I'm the only other one you've seen with it.

yeah..but the last i knew that didnt actually have any..they'd have to make them to order

It is sad to see the market fade. Even though its fading I still plan to buy an SVT. Simply because its going to be a rare car to have in the future!

I think that maybe it has somehting to do with younger people buying these cars. most of them most likely don't have the money to drop on items that once went for big dollars. plus many might get cars the are pretty beat and they have to spend what little money they have on repairs and maintence. but I am not going to complain I just won a SVT lim with injectors and fuel rail for $65 shipped on ebay

lol not entirely, but it hasn't helped me doing repairs.
repairs in 1 and half years:
tail and fog light bulbs ~ 12
ATX fluid change ~ 35-40
Brakes and rotors up front ~ 130
Shoes and installion by shop ~ 60
IAC ~ 40
Gaskets and hose clamps because of air leaks ~ 10-15
Code Reader(finally gave up with driving to AZ or advacne) ~ 80
Oil ~ 40?? not sure
New tires ~ 276
so around extra 500 dollars easy.
But I do have CAI and trubendz exhaust, new Aiwa HU so repairs and mods probably equal. lol
if it not for repairs and maintance i would have headers and a Y.
