I own a 1995 Contour SE, duratec v6. I currently have about 120k miles on it, and suddenly i need a new wiring harness, which as you may know will cost most people in upwards of $1,000 to replace. I have found that one wire after another is decomposing, there is no protection for these wires, and are all going bad. Is this a common problem for contour owners with high mileage? Also, i was wondering if there was another solution to save money.
Thanks.

The entire set costs about $600. If it is just the fan harness, it is about $200. If you plan on doing it yourself, you save the labor costs.
