Well my speedometer died today. I have a very early 95 so I think it's cable driven and I hear a click behind the dash the varies with vehicle speed. This really sucks since I read a while back that there are no cables available in all of Canada. I'll have to look for something in Canadian Tire or elsewhere I guess. Hope it can be found.

Hate to tell you, but I got the last 95 speedo cable left in the country last year. It was not real expensive. I would definately recommend trying Bill Jenkins. I would NOT put a used cable in. It is not an expensive enough part to be worth the bother.
You might try Ray down at Sheridan Ford parts. He owned a 95 also, so he might be able to dig one up. I was told mine was the last one in Canada, but that could have been wrong too.
Good luck!
Erik

Thanks for the help. I'll be working on it this weekend so my free milage is until then. But I find it strange driving and not knowing how fast I'm going. I'll check Sheridan Ford, some other random Ford dealer, then NAPA just in case. My last choice would be the scrap yard since the local one has never had a Contour and it would have to be a 95. I have to remove it first and see what it looks like. Is it very flexible? Can it be made of something else like a bike break cable?

His is cable driven though. Therefore there are very few out there that will suffice his needs.

Indeed this is unfortunate. I'll have a look on the weekend and then write an update. If anyone also has suggestions to alternative cables that can be used, I'm all ears errr eyes.

Check this site out. It's the place that stores all the old parts once the dealers stop selling them.

Unfourtunately they don't deal with any Canadian dealers so you'll have to get them from Bill J.
This is how I got my fog light brackets.....
