On the way home from work i was coming to a stop sign, put the clutch in and took it out of third when i went to put it in 1st, it wouldnt engage, in any gear, its stuck in third I think by the way i limped home. All the linkage looks fine from what I can see when you pop up the boot. Anyone know what could be wrong?! Please respond fast!!! Thanks, Eric

The linkage at the transmission probably came apart. Or the shift tower shifting topic Check the cables at the transaxle first.

I found the linkage, and when I move it around the shifter does too. So does that mean its something internally wrong, or just something i cant see/get to? The linkage looked fine.

Both the cables are attached at the tranny

If the shift lever is attached too, then it is internal trans trouble, as pictured. Anybody know the cost to fix?

If its the bolt on the shift tower, TH can send you another tower (focus one is preferred, but requires a couple other tidbits to work) for a smallllllll price. then labor to replace it. (can be done in the car from the top, as long as the sheared bolt piece can be extracted...)

this happened to me, and it was about $75 or so for the USED, but fine, shift tower from TH. and another 100 or so for labor from a backwoods numbnuts mechanic.
