Nerw to contour, just got a 95 Gl with 4 cyl Zetec. Replace motor due to previous owner overheating and cracking head. When it is cold, it will not idle, when it is warming up, it acts like a miss, the when warm, it is ok. I tried to "clean" the IAC, it worked somewhat, it had ALOT of white residue in it. I was thinking the Coolant sensor ? another IAC ? Please help..

Also looking for parts sources or are these dealer items ?

As for your idle problem... Is it throwing a CEL? this sounds a lot like either the timing is off, or your spark plug wires arent in the right places.

was the white residue an aluminum oxide (wrong term maybe) kinda looks likes the outside of the block after a while. Or is it something else? The IAC might have been sitting out while the motor was replaced. A time frame might set that in perspective. Also I hope new gaskets for the intake were used if not that could be reason for rough idle.
