Saw a new M5 in person. Looks really sweet. Love the wheels and rear exhaust. The guy driving it put on a little show by passing me under hard throttle. Sounded awesome. Would love to get a car like that... I would wait for the 6mt to come out. I like to shift my own gears. Wouldn't mind an AWD version either.

my friends dad owns an italian pizza place and he just got his like 2 weeks ago..he took me for a ride in it and you guys have no idea what this beast sounds like..unbelievable torque! and that V-10 sound!! I cant explain  i-drive is still the devil and i hate it..I do wish it wasnt smg..rumors are its gonna be a 7 speed manual just like the smg..we'll see these are from the NE-Auto Show    errr giggity giggity gooo

I have an idea what the beast sounds like since I work around them all day  . I honestly prefer driving the E39 M5. As for SMG I prefer that over the manual and launch mode is fun as hell. Hope your friends dad isn't beating to hard on it until after his 2,000km service.
My one complaint about the new M5 is the power band is way to smooth, yeah it feels fast and it goes but it doesn't have that same raw feeling as the last genereation M5.

Saw one at Road Atlanta yesterday. Almost didn't notice the difference between it and 530i a few spaces away. The same thing happened when I saw a C6 Z06 next to normal one except that Z06 was alot faster.
