My 98 CSVT shows a build date in June of 1997. How can I find out how many were made before it?
Second question: Anyone know of another CSVT with more that 245,000 miles? Just curious if I might have the highest mileage one around. (yes, I know the signature below is out of date)

I do believe you might have the highest svt. I know others are pushing more than that on other models. Do you have any pics of the vehicle?

I would probably be there now except that I no longer drive 120 miles a day. I'm at 212,000. Everything is still original, engine (except for water pump), clutch, and trans. Agressive maintenance helps.

I drive a lot of highway miles, which helps. I've always used synthetic oil, changed every 10k miles. It still only uses a quart in about 7000 miles.
Everything is original except the alternator and waterpump (on which I shattered the impeller during some redline driving a few years ago). Oh yeah -- new front brake rotors last summer.
I think the one secret besides the obvious is to keep your foot out of it until the engine is at or near full operating temperature. Baby a cold engine! Once they're warmed up, you can run the snot out of most DOHC engines and not worry about it. My tach has seen 6000+ RPM many thousands of times, but only at operating temperature. I still do it now, even with all the miles on it.
As far as posting a picture, I'm not sure how to post one. It looks like any other silver "E0", but with plenty of wingdings and lots of nicks in the paint, particularly on the front end and windshield. Oh, and paint damage from where the battery exploded in August -- that kind of made it jump the shark, appearancewise.
Oh well, it's still reliable, fun, and paid for!
Meado.
