The ones closest to the seats are the most awkward ones. I not only folded down the back seats, but I also removed the side bolsters for better access. A very skinny screwdriver is also helpful. If you don't have foldable rear seats, by all means, remove the rear seat back cushion for access. The side bolsters are a push in friction fit on each end. They fit so tightly that you would swear that something is going to break, but once you have it out you can see that it isn't likely. There is like a steel loop made out of steel rod on each end that inserts into a plastic sleeve in the body to hold it. It is similar to haw many seat bottom cushions are held in place.
I seriously thought of getting out my hole saw and cutting an access hole in the seat support, but I was able to move the retaining clip enough to get the strut to release it's hold on the anchor ball.
It helps to loosen the rear mount first so that when the front one is released, it just falls. If you don't release the rear one first, you may not realize that it has been released.
