ya see..the key is fixing the problem when you first realized it,when you let one thing go,it ultim. affects something else, now you have two things to fix instead of one. And so on...more problems means more time down and of course more money

Labor cost sucks. When my timing belt went out. I was about 3 hrs from home so I had to take the tour to a shop. It cost me $800 for timing belt and water pump replacement. They said their book called for 12hrs of labor. This was at about noon. They said that if I was willing to wait they could have the car to me by 5pm. So no matter how long they take to do it they charge 12 hours labor . So glad to have 2 cars now so if anything goes wrong.I'm only out parts cost. I can do the labor myself.

If you want something that will be worth it to dump money into, save up. Buy a 03 Cobra, Mod the hell out of it and be done. Or if you really want to make some cash, dont buy any cars, save up, buy a crappy house, fix it up by yourself or with some buddies, and sell it for 8X the price..

That's what I'd like to know also. Whatever shop you take your car to must LOOOOOVE you. They have two separate door chimes when customers open the door. The normal one is a little "ding-dong", but when you open the door it goes "ka-ching, ka-ching."

I went with my Mom to drop of her Dodge Caravan at her mechanics once and as soon as we walked in the door he said "Carol's here, payday everybody"
